Experience: Lower Frederick Township: Served 4 year term as Supervisor (2020-2023), served a 4 year term as Planning Commission Member (2019-2022) and currently serving as Open Space Committee Member. Lower Frederick resident since 2013 and long term resident of Montgomery and Bucks Counties.
What are your top three priorities for your municipality, and how would you address and pay for them?
1. Manage development pressures: Engage developers to assure compliance with all zoning & codes. Manage the short-term financial benefit of development so that long term township needs are addressed. 2. Maintain our infrastructure: Roadways, Sewage Treatment, Parks, and Facilities. Prioritize and manage projects within budget, seeking additional funds from grants, etc. 3. Retain rural & historic character of Lower Frederick via Open Space and partnering for preservation opportunities.
Please share your skills and experience relevant to budget decision making.
During my time as Supervisor, the Board: (1) maintained a balanced budget with no supervisor-imposed tax increases, (2) secured a lower interest sewer loan with better terms to save money for residents, and (3) progressed the long-promised sewer extension for the greater Spring Mount area. That critical extension project addressed maintenance and environmental concerns for on-site septic systems. These achievements illustrate my skills and competence in budget decision making.
If you had a magic wand and there were no obstacles in your way, what is the one thing that you would change right now to better your community?
Welcome new residents to Lower Frederick with information on all our Township has to offer and the many ways they can become involved. Coupling the welcome with a slowing of the pace of new residents would allow for a more cohesive community while avoiding fragmentation of community interests which often occurs with rapid large scale development. Lower Frederick's common issues and concerns should be the priority over partisan agenda's and solo group's interest. My Focus Is Lower Frederick.
What could you do in your elected role to promote civic discourse and combat misinformation in our community?
Lower Frederick, over the past 5 years, has done a great deal to provide information resources. This includes an enhanced Township website, an email newsletter, and township activities. As a next goal: Provide a Lower Frederick welcome/info pamphlet for new and current residents. The pamphlet would improve discourse; fostering a shared community by detailing township resources, contacts, history, and information (parks, open space, facilities, etc.).
Candidate for Lower Frederick Township Supervisor
Dan Orfe
Democrat
I’m Dan Orfe, Democrat for Lower Frederick Township Supervisor. Experience: 4-year term as Supervisor (2020-2023); 4-year term Planning Commission (2019-2022); member Open Space Committee (2025-Present); 4-year term Agricultural Security Area Advisory Committee.
My wife and I moved to our Lower Frederick home in 2013 and are long term residents of the Montgomery and Bucks County area.
I am an experienced leader with a proven record as a Lower Frederick Supervisor. I will be ready on Day 1. My priorities for Lower Frederick: 1) Committed to Effective Oversight of Township Funds – Stay within Budget and Stretch funds using Grants; 2) Resolved to Ensure Developers comply with Township Zoning, Codes, and Ordinances; 3) Advocate for Preservation using Existing Resources – Township Open Space Program and County Farmland Preservation Program.
As Supervisor I will make decisions aligned with the best interests of both current residents and for the future of Lower Frederick. My Focus is Lower Frederick, not Special Interest. I’ll advocate for residents so they don’t foot the bills associated with development - more traffic, loss of open space, and increased taxes needed to maintain added infrastructure. My record on holding developers accountable to our ordinances is proven, as is my record as a champion for our township’s open space preservation.
Lower Frederick is faced with development pressures, infrastructure concerns, and financial commitments. How these challenges are addressed will have a lasting impact for our township. Supervisors must ensure all parties play by the same rules.
I will collaborate with everyone involved to enact responsible, innovative, and common-sense solutions to address our community’s challenges.
Experience, Commitment and Engagement Matter.
